OPEN DISCUSSION- Movies....#Stepfather and # Serial Mom
The Stepfather (2009) Sela Ward, Dylan Walsh
I actually liked this movie! It was given 2 stars, I would've gave a 2 1/2 - 3! Now come on, it's clearly no original Stepfather. Dylan Walsh and Terry O' Quinn played the whole serial dad thing great! Hey, both of them had me nervous..1 of the reasons I rather not! :-) Check out the beginning, I mean like come on, goodness, how many was it?!, even the children..spells psychopath!#FreakyJasonKiller
The year of release for the origianl Stepfather with Terry O' Quinn was 1987, sheez then after we had the release of the entire flock, Stepfather- 2, Stepfather- 3, which I love and sad don't really get to catch it often. What's even worse, I should've had the DVD by now! :-(
Let's see, these men seeks out families where the mom is either divorced, widowed or just plain ole single with children and clear case of esteem issues. Everything will be all great, then once you start to do something outside their little box...."Off With Your Head"! Hey all limbs in some cases, real eye opener! ( Literally)
Then the kicker that gets me is the way they just slide their way right back into a new family. #Dead #Unbelievable
In any event, I still and always will love Stepfather movies. However crazy that may sound, but yes I love The Stepfather, old and new.
Now the ladies in action...Serial Mom (1994)? Woww, this feature has some of my favorite actors and actresses: Kathleen Turner, Sam Waterson and Ricki Lake. I must admit, I was not shook up at all with Kathleen Turner, I actually found her to be very hilarious. I laughed through out the entire movie! How crazed is that ?! Hey not for nothing I have a very different outlook on the whole white shoes after Labor Day!! #Don'tJudgeMe
Bottom line, here you have a mother, just like the fathers in a sense, who your ok in her book as long as you do not step outside the box. Now let's look at her track record: 1st you have the Math Teacher, man she plowed him down like a piece of straight road kill! I just was like wow, another different outlook on the grading process, if you know what I mean! :-) Mrs. Sutphin was no PTA mom for sure!!
In all reality they're parents who as I said in the beginning, who actually snap and do alot of crazy things to their family. At the end of the day, it is not that serious! It is only television and there are too many options for parents now a days to seek help...whether it's professional or personal.
I, as a young parent of 3 beautiful stars must admit it is difficult to be a parent, single GREAT parent at that. But you must build a foundation and set some standards in order for things to work. I know sometimes things may get a little rough and you find yourself back into a corner. At that very moment in time, take a deep breathe, say the serendity prayer and regroup. Trust me it works! I have a 17, 10 and 2 year old, don't say awwwwww...come help babysit!!!! :-)...
On that note, hope you all enjoy and trust me there is a thin line between fantasy and reality. Please read and take heed to the difference! :-)
